Regional Cooperation

Within the Upper Austrian Hydrogen Network, the region’s key stakeholders regularly coordinate their activities. A strategic board, known as the “Cockpit,” coordinates this collaboration and invites companies, regional partners, and subject matter experts to participate in six thematic working groups:

  • Primary Energy Supply and Distribution
  • Hydrogen Production
  • Hydrogen Logistics
  • Applications in Mobility
  • Applications in Industry
  • Applications in the Energy Sector

International Cooperation

Participation in international hydrogen projects brings valuable expertise, international contacts, and best practices to Upper Austria.
Through 18 projects, the HI2 Valley is driving the development of a large-scale hydrogen economy based on renewable energy in the industrial regions of Upper Austria, Styria, and Carinthia.
The European research project H2Market aims to create a mature hydrogen value chain in Europe. This is intended to prevent market failures in the future by linking supply and demand across different regions.

Partner Search for Collaborations

We help companies find national and international collaboration and project partners – and, if needed, also advise them on identifying suitable funding opportunities.
In addition, we are part of NEFI – the New Energy for Industry innovation network. Through this network, we connect companies, research institutions, and public agencies in joint projects to develop and implement innovative technologies and solutions for decarbonization.

Trade Fairs and conferences

We position Upper Austria as a pioneer of the energy transition and an international role model for climate-friendly industrial production at international industry events.
To promote cooperation between government agencies, manufacturing companies, energy providers, research institutions, and other stakeholders at the national and international levels, the H2 Convention was launched in Upper Austria. The annual H2 Convention has since grown to become Austria’s largest hydrogen conference.
